Driven Quantum Matter

Controlling quantum materials with light.

We are an experimental research group in the Department of Physics at Case Western Reserve University. Our work pushes the limits of light-matter interaction as a means of probing and manipulating quantum materials.

To achieve this, we design and build time-resolved spectroscopic tools across the electromagnetic spectrum, enabling femtosecond-timescale probes of driven quantum matter.

Optical spectroscopy laboratory

Our research program extends far beyond the laboratory. We conduct collaborative experiments at leading x-ray free electron lasers and synchrotrons around the world.
